Looking to drop Satellite. Antenna help please.

So after running the tv signal analysis it would seem i have a number of channels that can be received. It looks as tho most are in the northwest quadrant of the diagram. Being that i am an absolute noob when it comes to this what would you guys recommend as far as either a roof mounted or inner attic mounted antenna.

I have a two story home and should be able to mount the antenna 25'-30' up with little to no tree obstruction.

Thank you very much for your time.

ALL questions and answers about Broadcast Tv Reception and More.

A simple reception situation , Mount a Antennas Direct Clear Stream 2 Complete with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp above the roof aimed at about 320 degree magnetic compass.

http://www.antennasdirect.com/store/...VHF-Combo.html.

Remove the reflector screen so the CS2V Complete will receive at the front of the antenna and back of the antenna because your location has receivable Tv stations/channels to the north/west , west and south/east.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Here are some antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box.

Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.antennasdirect.com , http://www.amazon.com.

The Tv/s Must scan for the broadcast tv channels sometimes named the 'Air Channel' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT scan for cable tv channels.

UPDATE: I ended up purchasing the Clearstream2 antenna and a wineguard preamp from amazon for around $56. I went with the wineguard because it was cheaper.

I was able to mount the antenna about 25' on the peak of the roof facing 320 degrees. I left the reflector on but plan on removing it and trying another channel scan to see what changes.

I have paired it up with a Hauppauge TV tuner for the Pc and get 37 channels, about 8 more than just on the tv alone.

Thank you very much for your assistance. My wife and I couldn't be happier.

->ALL<- Questions and Answers about Broadcast Tv Reception and More.

To be clear , the antenna is the Clear Stream 2 Complete UHF/VHF antenna and not the UHF only Clear Stream 2.

Correct??

->ALL<- Questions and Answers about Broadcast Tv Reception and More.

All of the Tv stations/channels are to the north/west,west.

Except for 1 or 2.

With reflector screen on the CS2 Complete aim the antenna to the north/west , west at about 320 degree magnetic compass.

There are 1 or 2 Tv station that are in the opposite direction.

WPDX-TV Real channel 40 , Virtual channel (58.1) ION.

WMPX-LP Real channel 33 , Virtual channel (33.1) . This Tv station might not be transmitting , and if it does start transmitting it is currently supposed to be an other ION Tv station.

If these 1 or 2 Tv stations are being received through the back side of the CS2 Complete with the reflector screen on the antenna then no requirement to remove the reflector screen.

If not being received and will like to receive them then remove the reflector screen.

Your reception is over the top excellent , lots of Tv stations/channels are received.

Very good. Thanks.

Also there is an other ION station at 269 degree magnetic compass , WPXQ-DT 17 ION.

The signal strength strength is weak but might be being received with the reflector screen on .

In any event if ION is being received then as the situation is currently , no requirement to remove the reflector screen.

And in the tvfool radar plot channel list I see yet one more ION station , WPBX-DT 32 at 337 degree magnetic compass transmitting a Strong signal strength.

So no requirement to remove reflector screen.

I went Great Lengths with direct links and to the point information to make 100% sure that you would install the CS2 Complete.

A VHF up grade kit is available at Antennas Direct for the UHF CS2 antenna.

Or can install a Clear Stream 2 Complete UHF/VHF antenna , outright.
