best antenna for me?

hello, i am very new to the world of hd antennas. i'm looking for something that will let me watch the olympics on NBC, but it would be great to get as many channels as possible. i live on the 2nd (top) floor of an apartment building; i plan on setting the antenna next to my tv (i.e. not wall mounted, in attic, outdoors, etc.)

thanks in advance!

The Terk HDTVi (not HDTVa) is worth considering.

I agree, the Terk HDTVi should receive NBC and many others.

Face the antenna to the East. If possible near a window facing East.

Tv Reception.

The Tv transmissions are very strong at your location do not use a amplified antenna , the amplifier will over load from the strong Tv transmissions and be the cause of bad reception or no reception.

Here is how to aim indoor and outdoor antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

The Main Group of Tv transmitters is to the south east.
Placing the HDTVi antenna in a window that is toward the east will produce the best reception.

The Tv Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

If the building is wood frame with wood or vinyl siding reception will be good.

If the building is , concrete walls , concrete block , cinder block , big rocks for walls , brick from ground to roof , metal siding , metal roof , solar panels , thick roof tiles , metal backed insulation , reception will be reduced or blocked.
