Tired of Messing .......

Here is my tvfool:

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...d243abe6d9f089

Over the years through experimenting I have gone from a Ms-2000, to a 4221, and then a U8000 and appreciate all the help from this forum.

I am ready to do whatever gives me the best gain (within reason) as during the day I can't seem to get all the channels.

Looking at getting two yagi's aimed 180 degrees apart to pick up Ft. Wayne and South Bend. Was looking at combining them through an HD Homerun as the only tv we currently use is hooked to a media center pc and the HD Homerun can accept the two tuners input.

My cottage is a manufactured home and since it is seasonal and has had other roof issues I am reluctant to do a tripod. I have an eave mount and looking for recommendation on Yagi's, spacing and wind load. I currently have an RCA Preamp with 50 feet of Rg6. Oddly enough I get no channels without the Preamp?

Thanks for any help....

I read all your other posts and threads.

This current post/thread , tvfool report says.

Resolved to block level only.

And the antenna height in the report is 20 feet above ground.

--------------

Please make and post 2 more tvfool reports with Exact address.

And make the antenna heights 25 and 40 feet above ground.

If the exact address does not work to make the tvfool reports then go to the tvfool home page.

Click on >>Strat MAPS<<.

Enter in your zip code.

Move the pointer to your Exact location.

Make the antenna height 25 feet above ground.

Make and post the tvfool report.

Do it again , and this time make the antenna height 40 feet above ground.

Not odd at all. That means all the signals coming off the antenna are too low a power level to make the trip from the antenna into the tuner without dropping below the tuner's sensitivity threshold. The amp boosts the levels to the point where they can make that trip without dropping too low.

Are you trying to look through trees or some other obstacle? Trees will have hugely varying amounts of attenuation and may render the signal calculations performed by the simulation software moot.

Know This about Reliable Reception.

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own , attic , roof , building , in the directions of reception.

Some and not all Negative Effects are.

Absorbing and Blocking Reception.

Multi-Path Reflecting Tv Signals Bouncing All Around.

The Best Practice for Reliable Reception is not install the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception.

The directions of reception at this location are , North West , South East.

------

Tvfool shows that a good antenna height above ground is 25 feet.

------

Install a , Antennas Direct , DB8e , antenna.

http://www.amazon.com.

Aim 1 panel of the DB8e antenna at about 121 degree magnetic compass direction.

Aim the other panel of the DB8e antenna at about 314 degree magnetic compass direction.

------

Here is how to aim antennas.

http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antennas , do not trust a , cell phone , tablet and etc. compass.

To assist the best reception , Most Digital Tv's have a Signal Strength Meter and Some Digital Tv's also have a Signal Quality Meter.

As always , antenna aim and antenna location can be adjusted for best reception.

-------

Here are some and not all antenna mounts.

http://www.ronard.com/909911.html. Install the , ronard , 3 foot or 5 foot tripod antenna mount.

http://www.ronard.com/712.html. Install the , Ronard(712-50-10) , 10 foot tripod antenna mount.

http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html. Install the , Ronard(4560) , eave antenna mount.

If the building has a chimney , install a , ronard(22120 , ronard(2218) , ronard(2224).
http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html.

http://www.ronard.com.

-------

The following information is important.

Connect a NEW Continues Length of RG-6 Coax that has the Compression type connectors on the ends of the coax , to the DB8e antenna and run the NEW Continues Length of Coax through a open door or window direct to 1 Tv.

No couplers

No ground block couplers

No splitters

No antenna system amplifier

No other devices

No etc.

-------

The Tv Must Channel Scan for the , OTA=Over The Air , ATSC Digital Broadcast Tv Stations Channels , often named the ~ Antenna Channels ~ ATSC Channels ~ DTV Channels ~ Air Channels ~ in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT Channel Scan for Cable Tv Channels.

-------

Digital Tuners can develop -Digital Glitches- that are not cleared out with simple channel scans.

To clear tuner do Double Rescan.

http://www.DoubleReScanAlert.pdf.

-------

The tvfool report shows the Yellow and Pink reception zone channel list.

Starting at the top of the channel list , how far down the channel list are channels received??

Are the Yellow and Pink reception zone channels being received down the channel list to and including WMYS-LD MyNetwork??
