I think an antenna like the RCA ANT-751 in the attic or mounted outside aimed at about 40 degrees (no need to be terribly precise) would suffice.

My suggestion would be a Winegard HD 1080. It's VHF pattern is backwards from the UHF pattern. WTNH on channel 10 is opposite directions from most of the UHF stations.

Reception of WCTX (the CW) may not be reliable. If that matters to you, add a cheap UHF only antenna (DB-2) aimed at WCTX and get an A/B switch.

Tv antennas and Tv reception

Here is the Simple way to do it. Remove the reflector screen from a Antennas Direct CS2V and now the CS2V will receive in two directions and will receive the Tv stations/channels to the north east and south west. Install a Antennas Direct CS2V UHF/VHF antenna aimed at about 37 degree magnetic compass. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html. Mount the CS2V above the roof. Here are some roof mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com. Buy the ronard mounts from solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box or buy from ronard. Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.antennasdirect.com , http://www.amazon.com

@TG, you have a point. I suggested the RCA because WTNH is projected to have a noise margin of 58 dB, so there should still be enough signal through the back of the ANT-751. Plus, there's a second NBC station, WWLP RF12, available just a few degrees north of Hartford. However, you are a lot closer to the situation than I am.

Thumbs up Update

Update: I went with Daves suggestion and installed the RCA ANT-751 on the roof. Setup could not have been simpler. I get all the channels in the green and most in the yellow. I pointed antenna to about 40 degrees magnetic and just like Dave suspected wtnh and wctx both are strong enough to come in crystal clear even though they are coming from 206 magnetic.
Thanks again guys for your knowledge and advise.
