Newbie: Antenna Question

Wondering if an RCA ANt-751 would be ok for my location. I am looking to install it on my roof and run the coax down my house. Currently have a dish and am looking to get rid of it. Thanks

Please make and post a tvfool report for your location.

Use the Exact address to make the report.

Make the antenna height in the report 25 feet above ground.

The area that is close to the reception location is Super Dense with Tall Trees.

Does your reception location have big dense trees in the directions of , South , South West , West North West ??

Are the dense tall trees in your yard in the directions of , South , South West , West North West ??

How far away are the trees in the directions of , South , South West , West North West ??

Please make and post 3 more tvfool reports , 40 feet , 60 feet , 75 feet , antenna heights.

Do not delete the first tvfool report that is 25 feet antenna height.

Additional Heights for antenna

Thanks for the help
For the 40 feet antenna height

60 foot:

75 foot:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...5b94da4d270359

How did you know that there are a lot of trees?

Yes, indeed there are a large number in the South, SouthWest and West direction which is the direction the transmitters are in. My roof line is pretty close to the tops of the trees however. Hopefully, the analyses tell you that as well.

The trees in those directions are about 30-50 feet from the house.
Appreciate the help.

A satellite view of the Area shows that Many of the houses are Directly In large stands of thick dense trees.

So I ask about your location , about the trees.

Trees and and tree leaves are Not Friendly to Tv reception.

Trees and tree leaves , Absorb and Block and Reflect Tv reception.

The higher antenna height tvfool reports so little to no increase in signal strengths of the weak signal strength tv stations in the Red reception zone of the tvfool reports.

So what is Very Important at your reception location is to get the antenna Up High to clear the trees as much as possible.

--------------------

Above the Peak of the Roof install a , http://www.antennacraft.net.

HBU44 antenna aimed at about 216 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna.

-------------------

Install a , http://www.antennacraft.net.

10G201 preamplifier.

Operate the 10G201 preamp in the combined antenna mode.

The FM radio trap switch of the 10G201 preamplifier will be in the , in/on position.

-------------------

Buy the , HBU44 antenna and 10G201 preamplifier at , http://www.antennacraft.net , or , http://www.amazon.com.

-------------------

Recommend for initial reception Test have only 1 Tv connected , No splitters.

-------------------

WFSB , CBS.

WTIC-Tv , FOX and Antenna Tv.

WCCT-Tv , CW and This Tv.

are Very weak signal strength in the Red reception zone of the tvfool report.

So is important to get the antenna Up High to clear the trees as much as possible.

To that end , here are some above the roof antenna mounts.

http://www.ronard.com/909911.html.
Use the , ronard(911), 5 foot tripod antenna mount.

http://www.ronard.com/Tripods%200703/4712.html.
Use the , ronard(4712-50-10) , 10 foot tripod antenna mount.

http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html.
Measure around the chimney and use a , ronard(2212) , ronard(2218) , ronard(2224) .

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at , http://www.ronard.com , or , http://www.amazon.com.

------------------------

Home Depot and Lowes have 10 foot 6 inch lengths of , TOP RAIL , chain link fence Pipe that makes good antenna mast , the price is about 10 dollars.

For Testing , you can lash the Top Rail Pipes to a chimney or can stand a tripod on the roof for Reception Testing the tripod does not need to be fastened to the roof and the tripod can be moved to find a good place for reception.

--------

If reception is good , then.

For 2 Tv's connected use a , Holland Electronics , HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a , Holland Electronics , HFS-3D , 3 way splitter.

For 4 Tv's connected use a , Holland Electronics , HFS-4D , 4 way splitter.

Buy the , HFS-2D , HFS-3D , HFS-4D , splitters at , http://www.amazon.com , or , http://www.hollandelectronics.com

Excellent,
I am just in the research stages.I will do my ordering and wait until the roof is clear of snow.
I will keep my fingers crossed that it all works well and give you a report back in a month or so.
Thanks again.
