Winegard HD7698P or HD8200U ?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey all,

The 7698 and 8200 are working well for a couple of friends down the road. Is one better than the other performance wise? Which one would you choose for:

Or would you choose another?

Thanks

The 7698 is essentially an 8200 with the low-VHF elements eliminated. Since you have no low-VHF stations in your area, the low-VHF elements which make the 8200 so huge in the VHF section are superfluous for you. There is only a very small difference in the high VHF and UHF performance between the two models.

How would the 8200 UHF range compare to that of the HDB91X, I would think it would be worse & that I would need to use both for ultimate UHF reception though I would prefer a DB8E in combo but I'm ambivalent that the mast could handle the weight.
