Question New! How can I choose what best for me.

Hello to all,
Just started researching the matter of cutting the cord. I am amazed at the depth of this subject and wished to have tuned in earlier.
So.. I have started with signal analysis, see link below;
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...e1c6820ba5e727

Since most of the station that I care about, KTLA, KCBA, KAB, KNBC are within 25+ miles and are shaded the green, so I was dreaming that maybe an indoor "set-top" antenna is probably sufficient to pick up these channels, maybe mohu Leaf 30 Indoor HDTV Antenna.

However, when I Looked at some Interactive TV Coverage Browser, it appeared to default on 10 ft antennas, see below;
https://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=90..

Can I conclude that an attic antenna is better for me, or an indoor antenna is sufficient, such as Mohu is better.

Many thanks

The Tv signals are Strong Signal Strength at your reception location , Do Not use any type or kind of amplified antenna or antenna system amplifier.

The amplifier will most likely overload form Multi-Path Tv signals bouncing all around and be the cause of bad reception.

Do Not use a indoor antenna that has the , 'fine tuning knob' , the so called fine tuning knob is a switch that connects the metal reception elements in different combinations and will make reception worse.

-------------------

Install a , Plain Jane , indoor type antenna.

For a indoor type of antenna install a Channel Master CM4010 antenna aimed at about 90 degree magnetic compass direction.

http://www.summitsource.com , has the CM4010 indoor antenna , Summit Source part number is AN4010.

Here is how to aim indoor and outdoor antennas.

http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Use a Real and Actual magnetic compass to aim antenna.

Do Not Trust a , cell phone , tablet and etc, compass.

Install the CM4010 in/at a ~ East ~ facing window.

If Coax is Run Through the House to Connect the CM4010 in the ~ East ~ facing window to the Tv , Then So Be It.

Reliable Reception is More Important then objections to coax running through the house.

The CM4010 can also be installed in the attic.

-----

If reception situations happen with the CM4010 antenna in/at the window or in the attic that are not resolvable with antenna aim adjustments and antenna location adjustments.

Then install a

http://www.antennacraft.net

AC9 antenna in the attic aimed at about 90 degree magnetic compass direction.

If reception situations happen with the AC9 antenna in the attic that are not resolvable with antenna aim adjustments and antenna location adjustments in the attic.

Then move the AC9 antenna to above the Peak of the Roof in such a manner that reception is not , obstructed , impeded , blocked , by the roof and building in all directions.

Antenna Craft sell a J pipe type antenna mount that can be used to install the AC9 above the roof.

------------------------

The Tv Must Channel Scan for the , Antenna , OTA=Over The Air , ATSC-Digital Broadcast Tv Stations/Channels.

DO NOT Channel Scan for Cable Tv Channels.

DO NOT Channel Scan for Only Analog Tv Channels.

Wow. That's a lot of stations in the green zone.

I would just put the recommended AC9 on the roof and enjoy. No need for rabbit ears in your living room.
