Just need one more channel!

Hi All,

I'm trying to go OTA but the wife won't have it until I can figure out a way to get CBS programming in the NW suburbs of Chicago.

Here is my TV signal analysis results:

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...2df9201847181e

I currently have three TV's.

One of them has a run of the mill, Best Buy rabbit ear antenna, and is on the second floor. Picks up all channels well, except for WBBM Ch12 (virt. ch. 2.1).

I have another TV in the basement with a flat antenna (monoprice HDA-3700). It also picks up all channels well, except, again, for WBBM (as listed above).

The house was pre-cabled with COAX outlets and will run possibly 5 TVs with cable runs varying from 30 ft to 100 ft.

I have metal siding.

I also understand that WBBM (CBS) is VHF Hi.

Looking for indoor attic antenna options. I just need one more channel!

Thank you all very much.

Looking at the Digital Pending Applications Included tvfool channel list.

For reception of WBBM REAL Digital VHF channel 12 , virtual number (2.1) CBS.

And the rest of the Digital Tv stations/channels down to and including WOCK-CD REAL Digital channel 4 , virtual number (4.1) http://americaone.com

Above the roof install a Winegard HD7082P All Channel antenna with - no preamp - aimed at about 138 degree magnetic compass direction.

All Tv channels are , VHF low band channels 2 thru 6 , VHF high band channels 7 thru 13 , UHF band channels 14 thru 51.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a common simple 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a common simple 3 way splitter.

Here are some strong and sturdy antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

It is best to locate the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the direction of reception.

The Tv's Must Channel Scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels , somtimes named the 'Air Channel' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Do not channel scan for cable tv channels.

Thank you! Looked at the website. The antenna size is pretty big (9' x 9'). Is there a smaller antenna that you could recommend? Thanks!

A case for the HD7082 and an alternative

The large all channel antenna suggested by teleview would be my choice also. It offers reception of WOCK-CD on real channel 4. They carry several networks, http://www.rabbitears.info/market.ph...n=WOCK#station, including America ONE Network. The long elements of the HD7082P are needed for reliable reception of low-VHF signals such as CH-4.

WKQX is also indicating a pending application to build a digital transmitter facility on real CH-6.

If you're willing to forgo reception of real CH-2 through 6, a much more compact antenna such as the HD7694P would serve quite well.
