Richmond Hill, ON Canada, Bayview and 19th

Hi friends,
I am newcomer here.
Location: Bayview Avenue and 19th, Richmond Hill, ON

TV Fool:
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...99009f1d02712a

High elevation, used to be able to see CN Tower (south) from the ground level and better from 2nd floor. Trees are getting bigger blocking my view.
So, behind 2 - 3 layers of trees (the closest tree is 60 feet from planned antenna location) I have Line of Sight to CN Tower.

Need advice:
1. For channels south of my location, will an outdoor antenna behind these trees work well?
2. I would avoid roof top or tower installation.
3. What antenna do I need. Preferably the DIY one, 12 feet above the ground, facing CN Tower (south, Line of Sight).
4. For a VHF & UHV combined antenna, do I need to run two coax cables (1 for VHF,1 for UHF) from antenna to TV?
5. Can a coax cable from antenna be split to two TVs, so each TV can tune to different chanel.
6. Where are the closest place supplying OTA antenna?

Thank you. Sorry, too much question

Kindly waiting for your expertise

A Teleview Recommendation for Tv Reception.

For reception of the Canada and USA Digital Tv stations in the Green to somewhere in the beginning of the Yellow reception zone install a Winegard HD7696P antenna with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp , aimed at about 180 degree magnetic compass direction. the HD7696P antenna is required to be located in a manner that there is the least amount to no amount of trees and tree leaves or buildings or other obstructions in the direction of reception.
________________________________________________________

Your location has Many Canada and USA Digital Tv stations/channels that can have reliable reception to the , south west , south , south east , in the Green and Yellow reception zones , down to at least WNYO-TV channel 49 MyNetwork , with a large antenna aimed at about 180 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

To reach out for reception of that many Tv stations requires a Winegard HD7698P antenna with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp.

The HD7698P antenna will need to be mounted in a manner that has No trees or tree leaves or buildings or other obstructions in the direction of reception.

Shoot over the tops of the trees or around the trees.

Some common roof top antenna mounts are , tripod antenna mounts , eave antenna mounts , chimney antenna mounts.

Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.saveandreplay.com , http://www.trentondistributors.com , http://www.canadapost.ca/shopper , http://www.amazon.ca , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.amazon.com.

___________

For 1 Tv connected use no splitter.

For 2 Tv's connected use a HFS-2D , 2 way splitter.

For 3 Tv's connected use a HFS-3D , 3 way splitter.

Buy the HFS splitters at , http://www.hollandelectronics.com , or , http://www.solidsignal.com.

The HFS splitters are high quality Power Passing splitters that pass power to the preamplifer unit out at the antenna.

Common splitters that pass power through input and one output will also work.

Yes both Tv's will be able to tune any Tv channel.

The Tv's Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Antenna behind the trees, will I get the channel?

Hi, Thanks folks for the suggestion.
I am aware that the higher and the less obstruction means better reception.

Between my location and CN Tower it is absolutely LOS, except for 3 -4 layers of tree in between These trees are tall. Even with a rooftop installation these trees will still bloc the LOS.

Will these trees degrade the signal significantly, so I cant get reasonably good reception?

Thanks
