Antenna advice for Miami

All help is appreciated. I just cut the cord on cable and want to pull in some hd signals. What's my best route?

- metal roof
- close to high tension power lines < .25 miles
- would like to mount in attic. If possible

Here is my report...

Thanks in advance!

You don't need a large antenna, but the metal roof will reflect and block signals, making the attic a difficult or impossible mounting location.

The RCA ANT-751 or Antennacraft HBU-11 would do well, mounted on the roof or a wall. Point at about 28° per a compass, while avoiding trees, buildings and other obstructions.

If you have several TVs to connect, try using just a passive splitter. If you have trouble with some of the weaker signals you can add a CM-3410 distribution amplifier between the antenna and splitter.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)

Your reception location has recivable Tv stations the directions of , North , North East , South West , South.

Above the roof in such a manner that the roof and house are not impeding and blocking reception in the directions of , North , North East , South East , South.

Install a Channel Master CM5016 antenna aimed at about 14 degree magnetic compass direction.

Use a Old School magnetic compass.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

A Winegard , DS3000 J pole type antenna mount will work well with the CM5016 antenna.
