To see if raising the antenna height provides stronger signals post two more radar reports , 40 feet and 60 feet.

Yes I am looking at the NM. The target figure for NM positive 10 or more for reliable reception it gives a little elbow room. The FCC figure is 0 NM(dBm). Some reception situations have been reported with NM down to minus 15 NM how ever that is very low and reliable reception will likely not happen. As an example lets say that the antenna gain is 10 dB , that would move the signal strength up to minus 5 , but even so there is no elbow room for interference from weather conditions , atmospheric conditions , hills and mountains , and even the sun can blast away the tv transmission at minus 15 NM. I also look at the tv stations/channels by typing as an example , wpsd tv , in the google search box. One of the web references of the google search , wikipedia says that , wpsd , is NBC and RTV. The point is to get as many of the Networks as possible on the main digital channel and sub digital channels of the stronger stations.

ok i did some checking with the height and 29 feet avobe ground level is the highest the numbers are for nbc anyway. here is the plot for it: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...0b86f47d158842

his house is hard to judge the height for because his on a hill the upperside of his house is the higher side. would a Gable End Mount be strong enought for a 10 foot mast? because that would be about the right height.

Ok after doing more research then a sane person would. Here is my recommendation. Most of the tv signals are very weak. Install this antenna mount on the high roof part of the house , http://www.ronard.com/Tripods%200703/4712.html. And instal a Winegard HD7698P antenna with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp and will be connected to one tv that has a Digital Broadcast Tv Tuner. The antenna will be turned aimed at the two groups of tv stations. One group at 81 degree magnetic compass is a weak signal strength group and has these tv stations channels , WBRE-DT 11 NBC , WYOU-DT 13 CBS , WNEP-TV 50 ABC and Antenna Tv , WOLF-DT 45 FOX and The CW and MyNetwork.

The second group of tv stations at about 173 degree magnetic compass , some stations are a stronger of signal strength. This group has , W16CO-D 16 Religion , WHTM-DT 10 ABC and RTV and AccuWeather , WHP-TV 21 CBS and MyNetwork , WITF-DT 36 PBS , WGAL 8 NBC is very weak and I do not think will be received. Report back with how the reception is of the groups of tv stations/channels. And I can better recommend a second antenna set up. Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes/com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html , Here are places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.winegarddirect.com , http://www.antennasdirect.com , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.amazon.com. Buy the antenna mount from SolidSignal or Ronard. http://www.ronard.com

That is why I listed the channels and recommend one antenna to start with. The stations/channels that will be received for sure are , W16CO-D 16 Religion , WHTM-DT 10 ABC and RTV and AccuWeather , WHP-TV 21 CBS and MyNetwork , WITF-DT 36 PBS. A simple rabbit ears type antenna will receive these stations/channels if placed in a south facing window , Here is how to aim simple rabbit ears antenna , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html , Here are examples of Simple rabbit ears antenna , Channel Master CM4010 and TERK HDTVi . Radio Shack also has -> Simple Basic <- rods and loop indoor antenna (rabbit ears). The big HD7698P antenna is for the reception of the weaker tv stations channels that are listed. Remember that the tv must scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes called the 'air channels' because the transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna. Do Not scan for cable tv channels.
