http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...46ae5ca473e16d

Could I get recommendation on what is needed for ota reception
I have 1 new tv and 1 old one with converter box. My antenna
that I use now is old maybe newer one is needed or amplifier?
Have snow in winter that covers the satellite dish. If I could
get stable reception I would dump the dish. My reception is not
good . I get cbs and abc but they go off alot of the time. I am
at the edge of national forest with big trees.
Thanks for any help.

The closer and taller trees are to the HD7084P antenna the more the trees will disrupt reception.

The higher the antenna is , the better the reception.

It is Best to install the HD7084P antenna away from the trees as much as possible in the directions of reception.

The directions of reception are , West , South West , South.

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative effect , multi-path/reflections , absorbing , blocking , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv reception and so do buildings including your own roof and house and other obstructions.

The Best Practice is to install the HD7084P antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and house.

____

The Tv's Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels , often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some digital tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Digital Tv Setup Menu and select , 'Air Channels' ~ 'Antenna Channels'.

Scan for channels.
