If we were neighbors you'd see an Channel Master CM-3016 above my roof, pointed toward 255° magnetic.
For an in attic install, try the largest all-channel antenna that will fit. If your attic is not too awful an antenna site, as some are, you may do well.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
