You're in a challenging location... You need to use the most capable antenna(s) to have a realistic chance of reception of any of the major LA based stations. Small antennas won't do the job, not even if they have an amplifier built in.

The antenna you've linked to has no intentional VHF capability. I did not see the gain specification in the add copy, but the design appears to be similar to antennas of 'medium' gain. (Mileage estimates are generally useless. And in cases like yours, the mountainous terrain makes 'mileage' estimates from any vendor completely irrelevant.) That would leave you with little hope of seeing any of the real channels in the range of 2 through 13. That means it would have little chance of receiving KABC.

But hey, if you want to try it, Amazon generally has a liberal return policy.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
