From experience, that may be not so good. I've taken the same bearing 20 times and come up with different results most of the time. A magnetic compass, away from ferrous metals like the antenna pole, is going to give you a better (or at least, more repeatable) result. But compass bearing is just a starting point - try rotating the antenna a little at a time and see if 5.1 improves, without sacrificing other channels. With a little patience, you may be able to home in on strong enough reception on that channel while keeping the others.
That's in concert with other suggestions regarding interference and height, of course.
