The C2V is still current technology and suitable for your location if you can get it up in the air and in the clear. If you want to try something different you might consider the Winegard HD7694P. It has a little more gain, but has a narrower beamwidth which means it must be aimed at the transmitter; you can't "split-the-difference" between two directions.
Yes, the pre amp is ok.
I have new 15 ft pole made out of steel 3/4 conduit.
I already test ran the pole and it's very sturdy and hoisted straight.
So, I will get the same ClearStreamâ„¢ 2V antenna.
