Personally, I like to try things and hope for the best rather than declare failure without even trying. I encourage others to do the same.

Yes, you just might get lucky (I've seen it happen before) and get the signals just fine. It's hard to tell what's in the walls, buildings, and environment between you and the transmitters, so it's hard to say just how easy or difficult it will be to get signals until you actually try it.
