I'd try an RCA ANT-751R... Given the trees, be prepared to mount outside. There you'll be dealing with better signal levels and less interference from florescent bulbs and other sources of electronic noise.

A premium solution would be an Antennas Direct DB4e + Antennacraft Y5713 + UHF/VHF Combiner.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
