It sounds as if the amplifier built into the antenna has lost power or has failed. The least expensive test I can think of is to get an inexpensive non-amplified antenna to test with.

My suggestion would be the Terk HDTVi (not the HDTVa).

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
