You say that the windows are to the , north - north west , and the the apartment is on the ,north - east , side of the building , Is that correct??

The Digital Tv transmissions are VERY STRONG at your location.

Do Not use any type or kind of amplified antenna.

The amplifier will over load from the VERY STRONG signals and be the cause of bad or no reception on some channels.

I recommend a TERK HDTVi non amplified antenna.

Do Not use the TERK HDTVa amplified antenna.

As you can see , the tvfool radar plot report shows that the main group of digital Tv stations are to the , north east , at about 42 degree magnetic compass direction.

I recommend aim a HDTVi antenna at about 42 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim indoor and outdoor antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

If the apartment has , north , north east , east , facing windows , put the HDTVi at/in the window for better reception.

As always , trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and others obstructions including the apartment building.

It is best to install a antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions in the direction of reception.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Digital Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Do Not channel scan for cable tv channels.
