Your location puts you at a bit of a disadvantage to start with, which calls for using a larger antenna than suggested by your reception report. I would use nothing smaller than an outdoor design such as the RCA ANT-751R, but would feel no guilt going larger if I could... (Ex. Antennacraft HBU-33, Winegard HD-7694P).

You'll get much better results if you can aim the antenna north west.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
