If the J-pole is not tall enough, I'd be reluctant to add more mast to a satellite J-pole. As RC observes there are size differences to deal with and then, the base would be at risk of tearing out of the roof unless guy wires were added.
I would consider removing the pole, leaving the base bracket in place. Then look at a peak mounted tripod.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
