I've had tough trouble cases on several occasions. In several situations, I made progress after I decided to start over mentally, throw out all my conclusions and re-prove what I thought I knew for sure.

Each cable and connector, every part of the system should be suspect at this point. I agree w/ MrMe, simplify the system so that you can prove you have reliable signal at the antenna. If not, look for a new mounting location or an antenna that produces a reliable signal. Then, add complexity to the system.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
