Here's the FCC public notice that authorizes stations to choose the suffix "-TV", "-DT"...or no suffix, if there are no other services with the same call...as part of the DTV transition...at no cost.

The paperwork that changed K51GC to KHDS-LP...K30GD to KGBD-LP was also filed with the request to drop the "-TV" from KAKE-TV and KUPK-TV...and ALL were granted.

I'm sure that several stations have tweaked their calls...and not all databases have caught up, yet.

Since KAKE's RF 21 is a "DTV replacement translator" is acquires the exact call of the "parent" station...so it too became KAKE...not KAKE-DT.

The engineers at KAKE (which is rebroadcast via KUPK, KLBY, KHDS-LP, KGBD-LP...and it's translators K38GH and K25CV) have confirmed that:

1) There is no date for a digital-flash cut for the LP and TX stations...and will advise when a future plan is developed.

2) That since K38GH and K25CV are TX stations for KGBD-LP...they will have a PSIP of "30.1 KGBD"...not 38.1 and 25.1 respectively, when they are converted to digital.

I hope this helps. What a great service you provide!
