I wouldn't be worried about damage to any equipment... Hopefully it will not overload. If that's the case, you'll be fine. If you add the amp 10G212 and get less reliable reception, that's a strong indication that you should use one of the amps suggested.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
