Is it cost the main reason you are selecting the one above?
That is most likely their reason. If you want an all-in-one combo antenna, the HD7698P would be suitable with a CM7777 preamp.

Your antenna must be mounted in a location that does not have trees in the signal path.

We are building the house so not sure how long the coax run will be but it will be long enough I think.
The preamp should be mounted near the antenna, and the power inserter should be inside. If the coax run from the preamp to the power inserter is less than 100 feet, RG6 coax with a copper clad steel center conductor will be OK. For longer runs, use RG6 with a solid copper center conductor, because it has less voltage drop for the DC needed to run the preamp.

If the antenna is outside, the coax shield should be grounded with a grounding block that is connected to the house electrical system ground with 10 gauge copper wire for electrical safety and to reject interference. For further compliance with the electrical code (NEC), the mast should also be grounded in a similar manner to drain any buildup of static charge which will tend to discourage a strike, but the system will not survive a direct strike.
