The RCA ANT-751R pointed at about 290 (compass) would be were I start. Fine tune the aim from there, the only odd station that may pose a problem would be the Ion affiliate, WOPX. By adjusting aim, I expect you would be able to get it without loosing reliable reception of the main group of signals to the NW.

I'd mount outdoors, clear of obstructions.

If the well is dry and you don't see rain on the horizon, you'll need to dig the hole deeper. (If the antenna can't get the job done, an amp won't fix it.)
