The dormer could be metal as long as the window in front of the antenna is glass. The antenna must be aimed at the transmitters for best results.

If the antenna is outside, the coax shield should be grounded with a grounding block that is connected to the house electrical system ground with 10 gauge copper wire for electrical safety and to reject interference. I can't give you a guarantee, but your report indicates it will work. However, the report does not include the trees in its computer simulation.
