No, don't do that. It should stay inside near the TV and power inserter. See Attachments.

rota-tor which is the most reliable,
my present antenna mast rota-tor craft TDP-2 died and i did barely used it ,and going up in the roof is an hassle,this is the one i have the control still works. see link
i 'd like an Ham Rota-tor but they are expensive as hell
