I would never call an omni-directional antenna "dependable". As the expression goes, "An omni-directional antenna receives equally poorly from all directions" because it has zero resistance to that...

Try placing your existing antenna in a window...

Try placing your existing antenna in a window that faces East-borth-east and rescan to see if you can get that station (you'll loose others, but this is an experiment).
