Indoor Antenna for Apartment

My daughter moved into an apartment and wanted to get an antenna for her TV.
She is very limited due to being in a ground floor apartment.

What is this setup?

I was traveling up in northern rural Ohio last week and I noticed that about 90% of the homes there have OTA antennas. Kuddos to them.
Also, most of them had the setup like the stock photo below....

The rolling lines are on all TV's they are using. One TV is probably 8 years old and one is about 3 years old.
With it happening on both TV's I think Tower Guy may be onto something with the ground...

How do I read the topo map

We have a station, WSMV that most around here struggle to get. It is our NBC affiliate.
At 20ft it is 1 edge and at 30ft it is LOS.
That tells me I need my antenna at least at 30ft, correct?...

Using Chain link top rail for mast

I was looking a hardware store at chain link top rail poles.
I thought this may be a good option for mounting my antenna to. I can get them in diameters of 1.31 and 1.66.
