Just noticed something odd today. My tv picture pixilates badly when a certain lite switch in the house is turned on, I'm assuming this is being caused by interfering with the reception...

Maybe I'll try a lesser db booster next. This 36db I just bought has not worked at all. The db is adjustable and I have tried it all the way up and down ... no difference.

So, for optimal antenna placement, instead of walking the antenna around the property, searching for the "hot spot", Is there a meter of some sort...

Reception update

Wanted to give an update on my antenna install since you guy's have been helping me out. Just put up the 7698 (~25') with new RG6 (60' ish) and an 18db booster. I haven't really aimed the antenna...

The bow tie plan I followed called for 9" elements spaced at 9" o.c. with 5.5" spacing at the element tips. The importance of all elements to be, "on plane" was noted....

Note: I actually seemed to get better reception with the RV antenna "before" the trees dropped their leaves. 7 would come in...

Hey all,

Newb's got a question ...

I just built a DB4 and mounted up on the roof. It sits about +40' off the ground, my RV's Wingard (model ?) sits about 12' off the ground and about 50' away...
