I need help with choosing or making an antenna for my location. I have the internet homemade 4 bay bowtie option. http://blog.makezine.com/archive/200...-steadyca.html
Do you think that would work for me? I can place it up to 30 feet high.

Just starting out and need to evaluate without great expense this OTA possibility.

It will be best to have a radar plot with the exact address and the antenna height in the radar plot at 25 feet. It looks Very Good for reception with what is posted so far , however use the exact address and 25 feet for antenna height.

As long as you're building antennas, here is a source of more refined plans and options for the type antenna you've been working with. http://m4antenna.eastmasonvilleweather.com/index.html With the home built antenna you should be able to see several Canadian signals broadcasting in digital.

The three US stations transmitting from Mt. Constitution on Orcas Island will be easy to receive.

I wish I could tell you that a home built antenna would give you all stations but it looks like you are blocked by terrain when aiming for the Victoria and Vancouver stations. I believe you will need to use a large Yagi such as the Antennas Direct XG-91.

To make full use of the antenna, a preamp (AD # CPA-19) and rotator would be needed.

Does your existing TV have an ATSC (OTA digital) tuner? Or do you have a converter box?
