Is UNC-TV run by UNC Chapel Hill?
 

I have a project due on UNC TV. I can't seem to find much about it's history. I know it's part of PBS, but PBS began after it did.

The official callsign, as known to the FCC, is WUNC-TV, but yes, the transmitter is operated by the University.

FYI, UNC-TV is owned and operated by the General Administration of the University of North Carolina system -- not UNC-Chapel Hill. UNC-TV is not affiliated with a single campus, but is part of the administration arm of the total 16-campus University system. The transmitter near Chapel Hill is one of 12 operated around the state by UNC-TV, which is a statewide public television network.
