More possible errors for Calgary

CBRT-DT: Effective ERP adjusted to my location shows as an improbably low 34 watts today, whereas it was much, much more just yesterday. The coverage map still shows the colour appropriate to the proper (and higher) ERP.

CIAN-TV: Same thing. Effective ERP shows as a mere 123 watts, but the colour of the coverage map suggests differently.

The problem here is that the Industry Canada database is showing multiple antenna ID patterns for these transmitters.

The file APATDAT.DBF associates station callsigns with their antenna pattern ID. In the case of CBRT-DT, there are three entries, namely 8072, 8110, and 8111. In the case of CIAN-TV, there are also three entries, namely 1073, 2016, and 2453. For any stations that had multiple antenna ID entries, we were not always resolving this antenna ID ambiguity correctly.

We've now put in a smarter antenna ID parsing algorithm, so hopefully this issue is resolved. Any new signal analysis runs should be using the corrected database now.

Sorry for any confusion this may have caused.

Please note that coverage overlays take a long time to process, so if any coverage maps were generated incorrectly due to this bug, it will take a week or two for new coverage maps to be generated and subsequently updated on the server.

Thanks for looking into it!
FYI — the signal analysis is still incorrect … will check again later.

Try it now.
