Help in receiving PBS 30
I am using the ClearStreamâ„¢ 2 Complete Long range digital TV antenna with an Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp installed above the fence facing 255 degree.
I am able to get almost 33 stations. In the signal analyzer it shows I should be able to get PBS 30 which I can't seem to receive. I am getting GPB 8.1, 8.2 & 8.3 along with ABC, NBC, FOX and more. Is there any better thing i can add to my setup to get more stations as well as PBS? my location http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...8e03fa32c320a0 my antenna https://www.antennasdirect.com/store...-Complete.html my setup http://s19.postimg.org/4gwf66upv/20150915_191430.jpg pic host |
The link for your setup shows a blocked image.
Is there anything special about ch 21/WPBA versus ch 8/WGTV? More channels? A bigger antenna. Maybe a RCA ANT751? Someone else can prescribe a better one. GA |

8/WGTV is GPB. I am not sure what is 21/WPBA. I'm not able to catch it. |

Your photo shows what's behind the C2V, but it doesn't show what's actually important - the view TOWARDS the signal path. If you stand directly under the antenna and take a picture of what is directly out in front of the antenna, it would help more. Is that an amp mounted at the level of the middle cross rail of the fence? If so, please identify it. As for "more stations", which specific ones are you interested in? |

Your tvfool report tells me that you MIGHT be able to receive it if you use a high gain antenna and preamp, mounted high in the air, aimed in the right direction, with no trees or buildings in the way. The report doesn't take trees or buildings into consideration. WPBA PBS real channel 21, virtual channel 30.1 is about 50 dB weaker than your strongest signal. Its signal path is listed as 2Edge, which means that the terrain will interfere with the signal on its way to your location. Your report shows that WPBA has co-channel interference from WHNS also on channel 21. Your location is on the fringe of coverage for WPBA: http://forum.tvfool.com/attachment.p...2&d=1442695370 And there is terrain that blocks the signal: http://forum.tvfool.com/attachment.p...3&d=1442695394 In addition to those problems, you have a very strong local FM signal WSBB-FM on 95.5 MHz with a strength of -10.5 dBm which might cause a problem for your preamp. See attachment 3. |
Here is the picture infornt of the pole with 260 degree angle.
I tried adjusting the height but could not get PBS. http://s19.postimg.org/j854dwghr/20150915_191430.jpg http://s19.postimg.org/77jod6933/20150922_081307.jpg |
Get the antenna out from behind the houses. PBS 30's signal is too weak (as explained in post #4) for such a compromised location.
Aiming an antenna point-blank into a structure is a pretty good way to assure that very little signal can get to the antenna. See this thread for an example: http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=15421 |
Thanks for the photos.
You are not going to get WPBA PBS, real channel 21, virtual channel 30.1 with those buildings in the way. You need to be happy with WGTV PBS, real channel 8, virtual channel 8.1, because it has Create and WPBA doesn't. The only way you might have a chance for WPBA is if you: 1. Bought an Antennas Direct DB8e or 91XG 2. Mounted it much higher, maybe on your roof, to clear those buildings 3. Aimed both panels of the DB8e or the 91XG at an azimuth of 236 degrees magnetic to try to reject the co-channel interference from WHNS Fox also on the same channel (looks like we were posting at the same time again, so the OP gets a second opinion):) |
