antenna rotator problem

I need advice on what to do with my antenna setup...I live on the side of a big hill we get 60 plus mph wind during thunderstorms...my rotator I have now don't work anymore cause the high wind spun the antenna around and messed the rotator up...my question is if I get a new rotator will a rotator support bearing prevent this from happening again.

If the rotor was damaged by the top mast being too long and the top part of the rotor cracked, then yes it will help.
Otherwise, the antenna can still spin, unless you buy a ham rotor w/ a brake.

An antenna can be spun by wind w/o being damaged and possibly just need to be calibrated.
Unless it's seized, or wires pulled out.
