Antenna Recommendation for OTA first timer in Hillsboro OR

For several years, have not been able to afford cable. Want to get OTA TV channels. I am new to setting up OTA TV and need your advise. From what I have seen, this forum has very knowledgeable experts, that help provide valuable insights and recommendations.

Channels most interested in (7-50): PBS, NBC, Fox, CBS, ABC. Any additional channels would be bonus.

We only need 1 TV setup for OTA. One other thing, I do live up a hill and have tall pine trees. I can put roof top antenna on house.

What antenna would you recommend for best reception? What channels are possible via OTA and good antenna?

With 1 antenna aimed in 1 direction and no antenna rotation with a antenna rotator.

As always , trees and tree leaves , plants and plant leaves , have a Negative Effect on Broadcast Tv Reception and so do buildings and other obstructions including your own roof and building.

Some and not all Negative Effects are.

Absorbing and Blocking Reception.

Multi-Path Reflecting Tv Signals Bouncing All Around.

The Best Practice is to install the HD1800 antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of obstructions of any type or kind in the directions of reception including your own roof and building.

Edit: If you are in Hillsboro, can you rerun your TV fool plots at 50', 75' and what you consider the height of your trees? I ran a generic plot off your zipcode and it reports Line of sight conditions to Portland transmissions.

I want to see if elevation improves your conditions dramatically. If so, you can go higher with a tree mounted antenna that is smaller than the monster HD1800. However, let's see what your reposting says.

Majority of the channels of most interest are digital High VHF and UHF (do not need low VHF channels). Looks like the direction between 45-47 degree has the majority of channels of interest. So am I correct to assume a good UHF/Hi VHF directional antenna is needed.

I would like to get the best highest quality antenna. Form research, these models get good reviews.

A) Winegard HD8200U (Yagi, Hi VHF/UHF, Gain Hi VHF 12.6, UHF 14.2)
B) Channel Master CM4228HD (Bowtie, Hi VHF/UHF, Gain Hi VHF ___, UHF 12)

Which antenna is better, if TV towers are on the other side of our hill?
