41 miles @ 1Edge Pixelation
I'm getting occasional pixelation with the following signal numbers.
NM(db) 30.5 Pwr(dBm) -60.3 Path 1Edge, Distance 41 miles. I have a Channel Master 7777 preamp and power supply installed on a DB8e antenna, 35 feet off the ground with 100 feet of cable run. Is there something else I might be able to do for better quality reception ? NM(db) 30.5 Pwr(dBm) 60.3 Path 1Edge, Distance 41 miles. |
My TV Signal Analysis Results -
http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...f1f0d31d44a386 The tower In question is at magnetic 142 degrees. I presently have one GB8e antenna Bowtie pointed directly at 142 degrees and the other bowtie pointed at magnetic 269 degrees for close towers. Should I try both DB8e bowties pointed more at the 142 - 180 degrees ? |
What station is that? Nothing on your chart matches those numbers.

You're going to need a VHF antenna added to the DB8e. It was never intended, designed, or sold for VHF reception.
You can try the VHF-1 VHF retrofit kit which should have a fair chance of working okay, but you may find that a more substantial high-VHF antenna is required. You've likely got too much amplifier there, the 7777 isn't intended for locations with moderate to strong signals. Try the system without it. |
Thanks for the information,
I should have caught that about the VHF and will remove the CM 7777 preamplifier. I will also orient both Bowtie panels directed back towards the magnetic 269 degree towers. |
I used to live in Franklin Co. to your northwest. The signal strengths for channels 10, 11 and 12 were lower than what you show. The VHF add on ADTech mentions will definitely work for channel 11 and probably work for channel 10. It probably won't work for channel 12. The retrofit kit is really inexpensive so it's worth a try.
