This is the Amp i want to buy. http://www.amazon.com/Winegard-LNA-2...enna+amplifier this is my Antenna report http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...82300e5f056fb3 i cut off boom in half and some VHF elements left only 3 VHF on the back, the antenna is the one that is in my avatar, just don't use the rota-tor no more cause it failed. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Channel-M...-203763044-_-N This is the Inside amp i use before the Receiver http://forums.qrz.com/showthread.php...two-RG6-cables |
You have some very strong signals that might overload the preamp.
What signals are you getting, by real channel? What signals do you want that you are not getting? Why aren't you happy with your present setup? If you use a preamp and your present distribution amp, your tuner will probably be overloaded. Quote:

Unless there are factors you haven't told us, you don't need an amp.
If you did need one, you'd be better off moving the one you already have outside to the antenna (use a remote power inserter, Commscope SVPI, or equivalent) or as close to the antenna as possible (shortest cable). FWIW, putting an amp right at the input of a tuner is usually a waste of an amp. There's only a very small improvement possible with the amp at the wrong end of the coax. |

Are you getting any Boston signals now? |

Thanks rabbit73; appreciate, also if i to decide to get another antenna rota-tor which is the most reliable, my present antenna mast rota-tor craft TDP-2 died and i did barely used it ,and going up in the roof is an hassle, this is the one i have the control still works. see link i 'd like an Ham Rota-tor but they are expensive as hell http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/2618192...466&rmvSB=true |

Thanks for the info. I seems to me that Ham only build Ham rotators for Cbs, why not to build Ham rota-tors for VHF/UHF OTA for a fare price ? the Ham rotator s prices are absurd |

Hi rabbit73; i went up in the roof and took down the Rotator and opened it and found out there was a missing bolt that fell off,i replaced it and tightened all of them and sprayed some WD oil and connected a small wire between rotator and control and it started to work like new,put back and connected just like you suggested the SVA15PRSM near the antenna and the SVPI 12 v insert ,i've also put the SVA15PRSM inside a water proof casing ,. But i had a little upset, the matching transformer that was attached to the antenna to connect the 75 ohms coaxial cable broke when unbolting it,and couldn't find a shop here that sells them, since we had Radio Shack that closed all over USA, i've just thought of connecting the coaxial cable strait to the antenna with terminals till i could get a matching transformer on line, but for my surprise it works great without matching transformer i guess i don't need it, and with SVA15PRSM i get double channel ,use to get 34 now get 60 chan, of-course they are duplicated chan, to see the difference in signal i use to get on my converter box signal strength meter on WSBK38- 34 bars now it goes to 55, rabb73 I appreciate your info, due to it i did not waist money on an Amp that maybe would not make my reception better, but with my existing distribution amp i've got a very good improvement on signal and chan. thanks. |
Thanks for the good news; glad it's working better.

Channel Master 0089 or 94444 outdoor balun.
They have changed the design and I haven't tested the new version. Some sellers are using the old image with the groove and wire ends with a hook. The new version has ring terminals. https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...ng+transformer |

Since it brings so many channels connected strait to the antenna without matching transformer was thinking of getting 2 feet of 300 ohms dipole tape, i could make the connection inside the box and solder it to short peace of coaxial with a connector and connect to RF in amp ,what do you think, if my antenna had good access i would try all this easier, but the antenna is on a 3 store apartment 50 feet high, and is an hassle to get up there, https://www.google.com/search?q=300+...TsikUDuvM%253B |

It's your antenna. You have a right to modify it any way you want. However, I did enjoy looking at the 300 ohm dipole images in the Google link that you gave.:) |
