hi guys need advice I live in Orlando fl. and need a good antenna I have a sewell direct sw-29480 outdore antenna and have a little problems with the reception in a couple of channels even if I move it my question is whats the best outdoor tv antenna out there that will work. ??? I don't have a lot of trees but will like to get a good antenna thanks.

Sorry if I am in the wrong thread on my last thread I didn't understand what you where taken me so sorry I am new at this so I will try to give you the best info.i can give you. I live in Orlando fl. Zip code 32824 the only channel I have a problem is channel 26.1 which is Univision a Spanish language channel that my wife loves her soap operas the channel on any day or night it freezes and it goes out of signal stay constantly I rotate the antenna and nothing I have to keep it pointed to the south so I won't lose the other channels wright now where I have it pointed I don't have problems with the other channels is just this one I live in a house that don't have trees I have the antenna high on he roof with no obstruction so I don't know like I said I hope I am in the right thread if not sorry !!! Just needed someone's input I guess I needed a sronger antenna ???? The antenna I have has a signal of app. 150 miles that's what the box says and it is a rotary antenna 360 degrees 28-32db so I hope this will be helpfully thanks

The sw-29480 is also sold under several other names/brands. I have not developed any respect for it's build quality and I have absolutely no trust in the claims regarding it's performance. I don't recommend the antenna to anyone.

Here's a generic TV fool report for your ZIP code: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...1dda4096d28d03. Given the flat terrain in your area, it's reasonable to suggest an antenna based on this TVFR.

You should be able to get reliable reception with a simple, non-amplified antenna such as the RCA ANT-751 or the similar Antennacraft HBU-11. Pointed at about 40° per a compass you should be able to receive signal from north and northwest at the same time.

You should be able to split the signal to several TVs without needing an amplifier, just a passive splitter with the same number of output ports as connected TVs.

Hi !!! I tried with a non amplified antenna that you said but it got worst without it I loose a lot of channels the channel that I really need that I have a problem with is channel 26.1 that channel is Univision a Spanish channel it won't work unless I have the amplifier on all of the other channels are ok but this one it freezes to much it come on and then it goes without signal and it comes back even tho I move the antenna any other opinions ??? Aim a , ANT751 or HBU11 antenna at about 20 degree magnetic compass direction.

As a ->Test<- to prove reception.

Install a New matching transformer (balun) to the antenna.

Connect a New continues length of coax to the matching transformer.

Run the New continues length of coax through a open door or window directly to 1 Tv.

No antenna system amplifiers , No electric/electronic devices , No splitters , No couplers , No coax coupler grounding block , No etc. .

It is the , Antenna , New matching transformer , New coax , Tv.

Scan for , OTA=Over The Air , Digital Broadcast Tv stations/channels often named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv Setup Menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the Air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

Some Digital Tv's will Automatic channel scan for cable tv channels.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

Go into the Tv setup menu and select , 'Air Channels' ~ 'Antenna Channels.

Digital Tv Tuners can develop -Digital Glitches- that are not cleared out with simple channel scans.
