Analysis of karl's house

Greetings...

I'm new to OTA digital signals and have been able to determine the following...

http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...cef3354ad681bc

Finding the right equipment is rather daunting. I have a 10ft stationary pole next to the house strung with 75ohm running 20ft into the house. A standard household outlet is right near. I'm told my Samsung PN50B550T2F already has a built-in HDTV tuner

I'm mostly interested in signals coming from azimuth 123 deg. Secondary is channel 13 coming from azimuth 33 deg. And if a directional antenna is needed, I might as well pick up KCWX at 226 deg.

If antenna pricing between green and red was minimal, it would be rather entertaining to reach into the red.

Any help you may have time to provide is greatly appreciated.

Kman...

If your house is not wrapped with any type or kind of metal such as metal siding or stucko with stucko Wire. Or thick concrete walls. Then a simple indoor antenna will work for the channels in green . http://forum.tvfool.com/showthread.php?t=233

How many Tv's to connect? . KBVO is MyNetwork , KTFO is Telefutura , KTXU is TBN Enlace.

One TV hook up... I don't have an attic, outside is really my only option.

Don't think we'll be watching much Telefutura here. Can't speak Spanish here...

If your house is not socked in with trees and there are no big buildings blocking the view of the transmitters then I suggest the Mini State HDMS 9100 remote control Tv antenna. This antenna rotates 360 degrees. Your location has most of the transmitters to the south east , KBVO MyNetwork is to the north west , KCWX 5 The CW to the south west and the other CW to the south east , Both are the CW. Buy the antenna from http://www.antennacraft.net or http://www.solidsignal.com or http://www.amazon.com or http://www.starkelectronic.com/hdms9100.pdf You will need to get the antenna up above the roof line by 4 to 5 feet so the house is not blocking the antennas reception

Any channels below KTFO 36 Telefutura will need a BIG antenna and a amplifier. KTXU 24 is TBN Enlace , KADF 20 is Azteca America , KQUX 11 is Spanish MTV , KGBS is Spanish MTV , K34FM is TBN Trinity Broadcasting Network. . It's becoming clear the top 7 call signs will be the primary stations on my watch-list. At the moment, learning fluent Spanish is not high on my priority list.

The HDMS9100RV looks like it'll work just fine. Easy install, I do have a few tall trees but nothing in the directions I need, and remarkably small. And the price is very manageable.

I'm sorry, but that's an absolute-trash recommendation. That antenna might be OK for a boat, but all your stations lie in one direction, less than 30 miles from you Use a directional antenna like a Winegard HD7694P or an AntennaCraft HBU-33 aimed at 120 degrees: it will work better at less than half the cost, has no moving parts or amplifiers, and is easy to install. Everything that you expect from Austin will come in perfectly when you do.

kman198 24-Oct-2010 1:12 AM

Aimed at 120 degrees, i wouldn't get KAKW at 33 degrees, correct?

kman198 24-Oct-2010 1:15 AM

Well... I just noticed that KAKW is also a Spanish channel...

Tigerbangs 24-Oct-2010 2:25 AM

My point exactly: everything that you would want is all in the Austin Antenna Farm: you can get a rotator if you want, but you really won't need one to get the major network stations out of Austin
