antenna search overload
 

sat tv keeps going up and i'm fed up with paying when I hardly watch all that stuff anyway. just started researching hd antennas and i'm in overload. didn't know there were so many choices. i'm going with outdoor ant. and hope someone can help me, also will probably get a rotor to dial in channels if needed. thanks in advance.

2 tv's. there are large trees on the south and west of my house.

Option 1) To avoid the inevitable conflict regarding which way to aim the antenna, I'd suggest a single Antennacraft HBU-33 or Winegard HD7694 aimed toward the west. The exact direction will need to be fine tuned based on your opinion of the best line-up. You may be able to get stations as low as WYCW and still split two ways. Don't expect stations to the north, east or south.

Option 2) If you decide you need to see as many stations as possible, consider the possibility of two independent antenna systems. The second being a Winegard HD7698 on a rotator with a Winegard HDP-269 preamp. Either feed that signal to a single TV or double up the cabling and select the antenna of choice with an A/B switch at each set.

Obviously, you could build option 1 first, then decide.

Like most of us, you are faced with choices and compromises. It may be helpful to make a list of 'must have' stations.

hey guys, I just remembered that I have an old channel master in one of my storage buildings. I used it before there was such a thing as sat. tv. don't know the model but its big and it did have a rotator I think. would this bad boy bring in hd and other channels for me.

It would need to have a UHF section. Does it look like this? CM All Channel Antenna
