WVIA Scranton PA still on RF Chnl 49
 

Please be advised that WVIA (44.1) has been on RF Chnl 49, not RF Chnl 41, as reported by TVFool. This "temporary" change has existed ever since WVIA had a tragic transmitter fire circa Feb 2009. Note that another Scranton channel WNEP (16.1) has moved to RF Chnl 50, and WVIA since the fire has been on RF Chnl 49, not RF Chnl 41, reportedly using the "old" transmitter and antenna facilities from WNEP. Thanks to cooperation between WNEP and WVIA, PBS Channel "44" WVIA, an excellent station with superb programs of PBS and local interest, has been able to broadcast under these "temporary" conditions.
--- Anybody know if this change is "permanent", or is WVIA eventually returning to RF Chnl 41. ??
