Would like to get back to the antenna

First thing, I hope I got the link right.
I live in an area where tv reception was always difficult. It was only a couple of channels from Eureka CA. I would like any advice on getting an antenna up there and going back to OTA.

It doesn't look promising.

You have the possibilities, I think, of the following stations:

KQSL 8 IND
K02OD-D 2 NBC (KIEM)
K12OV-D 12 PBS
KIEM-DT 11 NBC
[and whatever sub-channels they offer]

Since all your possibilities are VHF, I would normally have considered an Antennacraft CS600, but I don't think it will be sensitive enough for your situation. Maybe a ClearStream 5 Ultra Long Range VHF Antenna would work in your situation. It does not look like you will be able to get a full slate of the major networks.

Yes I looked at the CS600 but then looked into a cut to band antenna, but it looks like I would need two antennas. One for VHF low and one for VHF high. Even though I don't have any UHF channels available right now I'am considering maybe a long range combo. More information would be great.

The CS600 is for both VHF Lo and High. But it's not powerful enough for your application.

I had forgotten that the Clearstream 5 is only VHF HI. Maybe something like an HD1850 from Antennacraft.

Agreed & only see channel 8 as possible.

Channel 2- 45 miles-1 watt-nope
Channel 12-45 miles-5 watts-nope
Channel 3 & 11-91 miles-maybe with extremely favorable atmospheric conditions a couple times a year

The best antenna for you is the Winegard HD 5030 available from Summit Source for $54.95. Get it as high as possible to pick up the low band stations.

Summit's site says it's NLA as does Solid Signal. Maybe call Warren Electronics. While you're on the phone with them, ask them if they still have any of the Antennacraft CS1100 left. (Oops, says local pickup only...)
