KTBV 12.1-6 San Diego
KTBV 12.1-6 = Los Angeles. Now that XEWT has abandoned analog ch 12, new KTBV has taken over with multi-subs. Blank screens appeared a week ago. Today, I'm seeing: 12.6 CNL; 12.5 alkamatv; 12.4 3ABN; 12.3 GCN; 12.2 Dare to Dream; 12.1 ctvn.

KBTV-LD has been there for months, it's a Los Angeles station.
With XEWT on ch 12, you just couldn't catch it in San Diego due to co-channel interference. |
Was new to me
Thanks for correction. XEWT-12 has been off analog for most of last year, after Tijuana went all digital, but past week was first for reception of additional station on that old analog frequency...and only today did actual signals appear plus station ID as KTBV. I first looked up via Google...but mistakenly, because of signal strength, asked about "KTBV channel 12 san diego," and got nothing. Now I see http://www.rabbitears.info/market.ph...lity_id=125499. Odd that we would receive a "low power" hi-VHF analog in San Diego when 5.1, 50.1, and 52.1 so often unavailable.

Unusual atmospheric propagation....

Atmospheric?
Why do some LA channels arrive (92116) while others don't? During summer, we get most everything not blocked out by co-channels (i.e., no 4-36, 7.1-3, 9.1, 24-26).

Same answer as above...
After all, it is over 100 miles over ocean and mountains back to Mt Wilson. |
