Zero channels

My new Analysis plot: http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wr...5ed606f0dba205

Using a Winegard FV-30BB to HD home run and getting 0 channels after scan.

I've tried pointing from 150-185 deg.

In our previous home I mounted in attic and got 12 or so channels on this old analysis plot:

Any ideas to try?

If the antenna is in the attic, it's low gain, building penetration loss and the terrain are all combining to leave you with little hope for reliable reception.

The single most effective improvement would be high mast or tower mounting, outside in the clear. It would be interesting to see a TV Fool report for 40' and another for 60'.

The signal conditions shown in your current report call for an outdoor mounted antenna that has substantially more gain. I would consider a Winegard HD7696P or HD7698P at a minimum. There are other 'premium' solutions that can be suggested if you'd be willing to consider a multiple antenna / multiple HD HomeRun installation.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Here are my plots for 20 and 40 respectively. To my untrained eye difference seems pretty small. Unfortunately HOA may have issues we me putting up a large mast

The following is a Teleview recommendation for broadcast Tv reception.

Above The Roof , at no less then 20 feet above ground and 40 feet is better , install a Winegard HD7698P antenna with a Antennas Direct CPA-19 preamp , aimed at about 313 degree magnetic compass direction.

Here is how to aim antennas , http://www.kyes.com/antenna/pointing/pointing.html.

Here are some strong and sturdy antenna mounts , http://www.ronard.com/909911.html , http://www.ronard.com/34424560.html , http://www.ronard.com/ychim.html , http://www.ronard.com/Tripods%200703/4712.html.

Buy the ronard antenna mounts at solidsignal by typing the word ronard in the solidsignal search box.

Here are some places to buy antennas and etc. , http://www.solidsignal.com , http://www.winegarddirect.com.

As always trees and tree leaves do a real fine job of reducing or blocking Tv reception and so do buildings and other obstructions.

It is best locate the antenna at a location that has the least amount to no amount of trees and tree leaves and buildings or other obstructions in the direction of reception.

The Tv/s Must Channel Scan for the Broadcast Tv Channels , sometimes named the 'Air Channels' or 'Antenna Channels' in the Tv setup menu because the Tv transmissions travel through the air from the transmitting antenna to the receiving antenna.

DO NOT channel scan for cable tv channels.

The following is a Teleview recommendation fo broadcast Tv reception.

The following recommendation is a Channel Surfing Friendly way to receive both directions.

Install 2 Separate antenna systems , one aimed north west and one aimed south/south east.

The 2 Separate antenna systems are separate all the way to the location/s of the Tv/s and are connected to a A/B coax antenna switch at each Tv location.

Press the button on the hand held remote control , change antennas and keep on channel surfing.
