Looking for a recommendation on a commercial grade antenna
 

I have a commercial IPTV application in Rensselaer, NY

Looking to help recommend an antenna for outside installation, at least 25' off the ground, maybe higher that would be capable of getting all the local digital channels.

I am not sure how far the antenna will be from the Tuner/Demods but let's assume it's less than 100'.

Any suggestions?

Also any suggestions on a local installer?

I don't understand your reference to IPTV, which delivers content by logical internet protocol, instead of by terrestrial OTA signals. Perhaps you should tells us what you plan on doing with the OTA signals.

I don't know of any "commercial grade" antenna that will cover all three TV bands, but there are manufactured antennas that will do it. What is your budget for this project? Commercial grade antennas are expensive.

In any case, ION is in a different direction and will need a second antenna and a custom combiner, or an antenna that has a wide beamwidth for UHF to cover both directions.

thanks, the plan is to take the OTA channels, encode them to an H.264 stream and distribute them on throughout the campus using the clients WAN.

Any good antenna would be acceptable, I just don't want to recommend a piece of junk. We do not do RF or antenna installations so I am just helping with a recommendation that is likely to be installed by the clients facilities team.

As far as ion goes, I'm not sure they even want that so let's not worry about that channel.

Almost any small all-channel antenna aimed due west should do the job for the major Albany stations.

Ive used Blonder Tongue antennas for decades and they are the BEST commercial antennas made but they ain't cheap
You may also look at wadeantenna.com
They handle very heavy duty commercial TV anternnas for head end installs

The Blonder Tongue BTY-LP-BB would be a good VHF antenna. For UHF I'd use the Kathrein CL-1469B or Blonder Tongue BTY-UHF-BB. Solid Signal has Blonder Tongue discounted.

For installation try Wells Communications. Another option is Algonquin communications.
