attenuator after USVJ

First Happy New Year for everybody. Second I been having problems lately after tree leaves went down with strong signals, pixelation, square pictured during the night ONLY. I do have a tower PBS 5 to 6 miles away and I ve been using the Antennadirect L3050 attenuator before the tuner. My question is I can get a in-line attenuator 3db or 6db after o before the USVJ splitter outside and before the Preamp C-19

I tried and removed the Preamp c-19 but I lost a lot of channels from NewYork NBC and weak the rest.

Adding attenuators & amplification is generally contradictory. One defeats the purpose of the other.

What direction are each of the antennas aimed? Have you fine tuned the aim recently?

Which signals are having reception problems?

after snow melt down a bit i went up to the roof and place 2 in-line attenuator one 6db in the VHF port and one 3 db for the UHF of the Usvj. it works!!! now it clear and i hardly get pixelation and choppy sound.:)

Things started to get bad after Hurricane sandy hit us in the east coast, the storm wind moved the antenna and thing were not the same. The vhf was overload 100% i removed the preamp c-19 but i lost a lot of channels.
