Antenna Recommendations
 

Getting rid of satellite. Have had a roof antenna for several years -- probably over 20 years old. Looking for any suggestions on a good antenna to replace the old one. Have several trees in the area.

Thank you for the signal report. What antenna do you have on the roof now and what channels do you get with it?

Most of what you want is coming from 63 to 65 degrees, except for PBS.

An Antennas Direct DB4e UHF antenna might work, but I'm worried about the trees; they block TV signals. See attachments.

Because of UHF Repack by the FCC, some of your channels are moving.

WCTV will be moving from real (physical or RF) channel 46 to 20. You will need to rescan:

Thank you for the response rabbitears. It’s an old model. Looks similar to some of those 7000 winegard models. Reception is okay, but I get lots of pixilation. A large beautiful oak tree in my backyard of course placed in the direction of the towers.

If the antenna looks like this:

then the DB4e might improve the reception.

But when you say:
My reaction is that you will have to either get the antenna from behind the tree or remove the tree from in front of the antenna to improve your reception.

Well.... damn. Lots of trees on that side. So I might be hosed on my reception of OTA locals huh.

Don't give up until you try a few experiments; every location is unique.

There are hot and cold signal spots on any property; the signal strength is not the same at every location.

Try a different antenna at different locations. At least you will have the satisfaction of having tried.

Hello there!I was looking at the ANTENNA installed you need too go up with the ANTENNA
Like 40Ft you have to get it above the tree ones you do that you will get all kinds of channel's and get your self a channel master 7777AMP and get a 40Ft CM Telescoping mast and a tripod and mount it in the middle of the roof's peak with a channel master rotor good luck and be safe on that RooF it tacks 2 men to put up an outdoor tv antenna.
